Job Summary: The Staff Accountant is a key role that is split between sales and use tax accounting and general accounting. Regarding sales and use tax, the role will be responsible for overseeing the monthly filings of all PLI legal entities and will serve as the primary point of contact within PLI for sales and use tax questions. The balance of the role is focused on general accounting, including account reconciliation and analysis, preparation of journal entries and related monthly close documents and monthly financial reporting. Job Duties: Oversee monthly sales and use tax computations and filings performed by third party service provider Research and respond to questions from the PLI Sales Team and customers regarding sales tax Maintain and organize sales tax exemption certificates Fixed Assets and Depreciation Expense Inventory costing and reconciliations for Las Vegas plant Completion of journal entries, Balance Sheet reconciliations and account analysis related to the month-end close process Assist the broader Accounting Department on an as needed basis with invoicing and payables Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Recent Accounting/Finance graduate and/or two years of broad based accounting experience preferred Ability to work independently and collaboratively to effectively prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines and produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment Excellent organizational, research, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written Detail oriented and willingness to roll up sleeves Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
