ResponsibilitiesThe Principal Project Manager will report to the
Project Execution Division Manager within Enterprise Infrastructure
Programs (EIP) directorate. In this role, you will have primary
responsibility for managing multiple medium-size ($5-$25M)
projects. Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of projects over the entire
lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring &
controlling, and closing).

planning, work authorization, monitoring project performance, and
controlling the project baseline.
- Manage medium projects ($5-20M TPC). Responsible for all
aspects of the project over the entire lifecycle (initiation,
planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing), with
an emphasis in identification, discovery, and planning. Apply
project management best practices and processes, such as planning,
work authorization, monitoring project performance, and controlling
the project baseline.
- Lead multi-functional teams to actively plan and execute
construction projects and monitor performance using standard
project controls and earned value techniques.
- Actively monitor customer satisfaction.
- Proactively develop and implement strategies to identify and
mitigate project risk. Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent training and
experience plus at least 8 years related professional experience,
which included at least 4 years as a designated Project
- Previous experience with National Nuclear Security Agency
(NNSA) nuclear facility projects and requirements highly
- Previous project management experience and responsibilities

with defined schedule, costs, risk, and quality constraints;

development of products and deliverables;
- Managing the project team in successfully achieving project
scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and an
ability to effectively interface with all levels of the
organization and lead technical discussions.
- Ability to maintain satisfaction of stakeholders with differing
needs and expectations.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Evaluates alternatives and
identifies solutions using systematic, multi-step approaches.
Develops innovative solutions that improve project
- Collaboration: Facilitates discussion and resolves conflicts
within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and with stakeholders.
Establishes trust among IPT members. Builds and uses
cross-functional relationships to accomplish tasks. Establishes and
manages medium-sized IPTs (10-20 people). Maintains and effectively
leads the IPT. Achieves customer satisfaction. Coaches and
motivates team members while promoting team interaction. Delegates
- Decision-Making: Demonstrates effective decision-making skills,
including knowledge of how and when to escalate issues to higher
levels. Analyzes the risks and future impact of decisions. Uses
cost-benefit analysis in decision-making.
- The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in
North Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug
screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that
includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid drivers license. MSTS is required by DOE
directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background
review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law
enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a
federal background investigation to meet the requirements for
access to classified information or matter if the duties of the
position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or
illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity,
serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can
cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in
the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent

clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of
