In this role, you will have primary responsibility for managing multiple medium-size ($5-$25M) projects. Key Responsibilities
    • Responsible for all aspects of projects over the entire lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing).
    • Use MSTS project management processes, techniques, and tools.
    • Apply project management best practices and processes, such as planning, work authorization, monitoring project performance, and controlling the project baseline.
    • Manage medium projects ($5-20M TPC). Responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing), with an emphasis in identification, discovery, and planning. Apply project management best practices and processes, such as planning, work authorization, monitoring project performance, and controlling the project baseline.
    • Lead multi-functional teams to actively plan and execute construction projects and monitor performance using standard project controls and earned value techniques.
    • Actively monitor customer satisfaction.
    • Proactively develop and implement strategies to identify and mitigate project risk. Qualifications
      • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience plus at least 8 years related professional experience, which included at least 4 years as a designated Project Manager.
      • Previous experience with National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA) nuclear facility projects and requirements highly desirable.
      • Previous project management experience and responsibilities should include:

      • Defining, planning executing, monitoring, controlling, and successfully completing discrete elements of scope in compliance with defined schedule, costs, risk, and quality constraints;
      • Maintaining satisfaction of stakeholders with differing needs and expectations;
      • Managing communications between project stakeholders and team members;
      • Identifying and complying with project requirements in development of products and deliverables;
      • Managing the project team in successfully achieving project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
      • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization and lead technical discussions.
      • Ability to maintain satisfaction of stakeholders with differing needs and expectations.
      • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Evaluates alternatives and identifies solutions using systematic, multi-step approaches. Develops innovative solutions that improve project performance.
      • Collaboration: Facilitates discussion and resolves conflicts within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and with stakeholders. Establishes trust among IPT members. Builds and uses cross-functional relationships to accomplish tasks. Establishes and manages medium-sized IPTs (10-20 people). Maintains and effectively leads the IPT. Achieves customer satisfaction. Coaches and motivates team members while promoting team interaction. Delegates responsibility appropriately.
      • Decision-Making: Demonstrates effective decision-making skills, including knowledge of how and when to escalate issues to higher levels. Analyzes the risks and future impact of decisions. Uses cost-benefit analysis in decision-making.
      • The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
      • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
      • Must possess a valid drivers license. MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required.
