Position Summary:The Director, Materials & Export Compliance is responsible for department leadership, vision and strategy, including overseeing the warehouse, logistics and international export compliance. They will work closely with all departments, project teams and vendors, to accomplish business goals and departmental milestones..

Requirements:
Responsibilities:

• Manages Warehouse including setting KPIs, cycle counts, material review boards and setting long-term material handling objectives and implementation with warehouse staff
• Logistics identify cost savings opportunities, carrier and vendor oversight to ensure products are safely and efficiently transported under contractual incoterms. Builds the logistics program to include 3PL, freight forwarders and local transportation providers
• Export Compliance inputs, screens and signs off using Restricted Parties screening, on sold to and ship to user provided information to ensure NCI does not violate US Export Laws. Serves as the Company expert on our ability to export to destinations including Russia, Middle East, China, India and Korea
• Working knowledge of LC (Letter of Credit) documents. Review draft LCs, communicate any issues and provide final documentation package for submission once products ship.
• Ensures proper documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances, are accurately processed for shipments, distributed and released to carrier, forwarders, customers and agents in a timely manner
• Maintain courteous, prompt and efficient customer relations
• Initiates accurate client billing based on established pricing while ensuring accurate cost and profit margins are maintained
• Liaisons with other departments to ensure processes are established
• Provides training and leadership to team to ensure they are properly servicing customers based on established requirements
• Helps drive and establish new processes and procedures
• Works with Finance to determine inventory criteria (min/max reorder) for new item master entries
• Establishes and leads interdepartmental meetings related to material control as required

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, requirements and best practices
  • Experience successfully negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers
  • Proficient in standard logistics software
  • Logistics experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skillsWork Environment and Physical Demands:
    • In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls
    • Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required
    • Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include week days, weekends, nights and/or holidays
    • Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply
    • Candidates may be required to show a driving abstract with a clean driving history for travel between the NCI facility locations and client offices as required. A valid drivers license is necessary Environmental Safety Requirements:
      • New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness
      • All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director
      • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employees Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basisEmployees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Required Experience and Education:
        • Bachelors degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is preferred
        • 5+ years supervisory experience in a logistics related role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
        • Experience with international export compliance laws and best practices
        • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted
        • 2 or more years experience using an ERP system
