Job Description:
Utah Behavior Services is Utah’s premier behavioral healthcare
provider, dedicated to creating successful children and developing
strong families through high-quality, evidence-based behavioral
healthcare. We serve Utah families from Brigham City to St. George.
We are serious about our work of providing hope and evidence-based
solutions for those in crisis. Our Vision Statement is “To empower
all families to build their joy as a family.” This position is NOT
for someone who is simply looking for a paycheck or a babysitting
job. This is a challenging job, but it has tremendous opportunities
to truly help our clients and their families. We’re looking for a
role model who thrives on connection with others and is passionate
about inspiring hope and resiliency in the therapeutic environment
and workplace. This is a place for someone with high levels of
patience, empathy, and compassion. We need an ambitious, optimistic
team member who is eager to learn and can problem-solve anything.
What Winning Looks Like: Our families are here for our help, and
you are a huge part of that. Take the responsibility seriously and
provide services to them like you would want someone to provide
them to you if you needed them. (Don’t worry we will train you, and
you’ll have a team to support you). Do your job with integrity and
honesty, while ensuring that documentation is kept accurate and
done with quality in mind. (Yes, that means being on time, showing
up when you’re supposed to, following the dress code, and providing
quality services to meet the clients’ needs). Use your Influence
for good - be positive, be supportive, and pull your weight. Be OK
with asking for help when you need It. (No Drama! Nobody’s got time
for that). Behavior Technician Requirements: 18 years or older.
High school diploma or above. Driver's license and reliable
transportation that can be used to get to and from work and to
transport clients for community outings. Must carry and maintain at
least the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage required
by Utah law. Pass federal and state background checks. Physical
Requirements: Due to the active and physical nature of this
position, there are vision and physical requirements that must be
met in order to effectively function in this position. The children
that we provide services may exhibit physically aggressive
behavior, which can include throwing objects, kicking, pinching,
punching, biting, etc. Some may also have a tendency to run away
(elopement). The Behavior Technician may be required to respond to
such behavior by implementing a Behavior Intervention Plan that may
include things such as response blocking, redirecting, extinction,
and restraint. Such a response may require a level of agility,
quick reflex, and the ability to physically protect themselves and
the child from harm and to retrieve the child in the case of
elopement. Accordingly, a Behavior Technician must meet the
following additional requirements: Strength and mobility
requirements include being able to perform a variety of physical
movements, including lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.),
kneeling, sitting, bending, running, and squatting. Vision
requirements including close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or
less); distant vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); good
peripheral vision ability to observe an area that can be seen up
and down or the left or right while eyes are fixed on a given point
sufficient to provide safety to employee, staff, and clients); and
depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge
distance and spatial relationships). Ability to maintain
confidentiality about the clients, families, staff, and any other
protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA.
Ability to work at least 21 hours per week, including 3 evening
shifts (4 pm-7 pm). Other requirements as more specifically set
forth in the complete RBT Job Description, Employment Agreement,
and other onboarding documents. Schedule: Morning Shift (9am-12pm)
Mid Afternoon Shift (12pm-3pm-12:30pm-3:30pm) Evening Shift
(4pm-7pm , 3 per week minimum) Monday to Friday, with
optional/occasional Saturdays
