Essential Job Duties Maintains American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification and modality?specific competency in all clinical and technical functions. Ensures proper patient identification and order verification; prepares patients for exams. Performs exams according to department protocol and reviews images for clarity, quality, and diagnostic accuracy. Completes studies within established timeframes without compromising patient care or quality. Assists and instructs students and other Radiology Technologists in protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment operation. Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns. Practices proper infection control and sterile techniques. Operates ultrasound equipment and related information systems to produce quality images. Maintains accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions. Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and equipment failure reporting. Minimum Qualifications Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) , including successful completion of at least one specialty registry beyond physics (OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, or vascular). Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
