Shift is 4- 10 hours days Monday thru Thursday

Human Resources Generalist needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with Day & Zimmermann located in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

Human Resoruces responsiblites are for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department in support of the Nevada National Security Site contract with the Department of Energy. The incumbent is accountable and ensuring compliance with legislation, CBA and DOL Regulations for benefits and 401K administration, out-processing, personnel files and data bases, and case-management of leaves (MRP, Workers' Compensation, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, FMLA, etc.). Contributes to the execution of Human Resources strategy and administration of the function's policies, procedures and programs.

Recruting responsiblites are to meet hiring goals in collaboration with Government Services Recruiting and contribute to the recruiting programs to attract, retain talented, qualified and diverse candidates. Incumbent will coordinate the interview process with the Hiring Manager and the offer with Government Services Recruiting. Ensures onboarding is completed per procedure and is an exceptional experience for the new hire.

The Work You'll Be Doing:

Coordinates with Business Support Operations, Recuiting and Management to administer and maintain the Human Resource Information Systems database (SAP) to include, but not limited to: hire/rehire actions, terminations, pay changes, promotions, PTO's, positions, organization units, etc. Compiles and prepares various HR reports as requested. Maintains electronic/paper personnel files for current and former employees; acts as point of contact for Office of Personnel Management (OPM) investigators for personnel file review; conducts verification of employment, EEOICPA,
Service Awards.

Health and welfare benefits administration to include, but not limited to: employee communications, employee benefit enrollment/termination; acts as a liaison between Corporate and business unit on benefit-related issues; reviews plan design and/or benefit cost changes, 401K, Pension. Coordinates with Payroll, Workers Compensation, BSO any employee leave requests (FMLA, STD, WC, MRP).
Business unit representative in collarboration with GS Recruiting on the recruitment program. Coordinates the interveiw process with Hiring Manager and offers with GS Recruiting. Assists
Managers in development, revision and updates of business unit job descriptions. Coordinates onboarding and offboarding to include but limited to online onboarding, I9's, system accesses and all other related logistics; facilitates and conducts new hire orientation and exit interviews.
Ensure inventories for all SOC NNSS records are accurate and all legal retention, agency records retention schedules, development of records series, inactive records are protected and requirements are met. Schedule and train employees to carry-out their area's record management responsibilities.
Handles routine employment relations issues. Complex or high-risk issues are elevated to HR Manager. Administers and maintains Employee Relations database. Other related HR duties.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

Bachelor degree in HR or related area
1-3 years HR experience
Professional Human Resources (PHR or SHRM-CP) certification preferred
Valid US Driver's License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver's License
Strong knowledge or ability to learn and understandf federal and state HR regulations including FMLA, OSHA, Workers' Comp, HIPPA, etc.
Must Excellent communication skills- verbal, written and able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment under tight deadlines.
Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite of software and SAP and HRI Skilled at performing/preparing detailed computations and reports; strong analytical and problem solving skills.S Module.
Great attitude and team player.
Successful completion of background screening process.
