Job Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:It is the primary responsibility of the Housekeeping Floor Manager to oversee and ensure the smooth operation of assigned housekeeping areas. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental policies, practices, and procedures.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee and ensure the smooth operation of assigned areaSupervise, train, direct, and assist all employees assigned to the areaDistribute workload fairly and evenly to those assigned to the stationConduct daily briefing and schedule meetings with Guest Room Attendants and House PersonsEnsure cleanliness of rooms, hallways, lockers, and lobbies that all work is done properlyPerform daily written guest room inspections in accordance with department standardsPerform frequent and consistent visual inspections of guest rooms and assigned public areasMonitor Guest Room Attendants and House Persons work productivity and communicate any area below departmental standards to the assigned Executive Assistant HousekeeperCounsel and discipline employees that violate department policies, practices, or procedures; provide regular feedback to Guest Room Attendants and House Persons on specific job responsibilities and guest servicePerform other job related duties as requestedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledgeable with OSHA regulations, to include implementation and enforcement of safety guidelines, proper chemical usage, handling of BIOHAZARD materials, and injury preventionAble to deal and interact with management, employees, and guests in an effective and diplomatic mannerKnowledgeable of all cleaning procedures, equipment, and suppliesStrong leadership qualities and sound judgment with effective decision-making and problem solving skillsMust be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and verbal formsMust have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contactsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:High School diploma or equivalentTwo (2) years of experience in Hotel ManagementWork varied shifts, to include weekends and holidaysPREFERRED:One (1) year of experience in Hotel ManagementBilingualOrganizational skills to function effectively under time constraints, within established deadlines and attention to detail
