  • You understand and agree that the company will ask for proof during your onboarding process that you have taken the necessary steps to ensure compliance. POSITION IT/Cyber TSCM Specialist needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with SOC located in North Las Vegas, NV. Responsible for the modernization and maintenance of the three Security Networks; Security Systems Network, Nevada Private Net, and Argus Production System. The incumbent will be required to conduct Security Test and Evaluation of all security systems and networks; maintain a strict configurations management, vulnerability management, patch management, and compliance management for all security system firewall, servers, databases, and network devices. Additionally, this individual must be able to write, review and maintain cyber related procedures, checklists, and security plans. Individual proficiency is required in cyber security and ability to scan for potential penetrations into the security networks. The Work You'll Be Doing:
    • Ensures strict configuration management controls, patch management controls, and compliance management for all security system firewalls, servers, databases, and network devices.
    • Ensures security systems equipment and plans comply with DOE, NNSA, NNSS, federal and state regulations. Confirms security system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties
    • Acts as one of the points of contact for Systems Administration for Lenel, EBI, Argus, Ragent, NightOwl, and other security systems. Interface with other system owners as needed. Individual is responsible for conducting Cyber Security assessments for the Security network and other sensitive networks on an as needed basis.
    • Prepares reports, compiles statistical metrics on system functionality and attempted cyber attacks and provides to Director, Technology.
    • Performs duties as the ISSM or ISSO as appropriate and coordinates directly with the NNSA/NFO Federal point of contact. Interface with other system owners as needed. Other duties, as assigned. What You Need to Bring to the Table:
      • Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security or other related degree program; or Associates Degree in related topic area with 5 years of experience and or a combination of Cyber Security Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, Security +, CEH, GSEC, SSCP, CASP, GCIH, or OSCP is preferred.
      • Five years experience cyber security, or other related experience is preferred.
      • Successful participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
      • Valid US Driver's License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver's License.
      • DOE "Q" Clearance authorization.
      • Great attitude and team player.
      • Successful completion of background screening process. The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:
        • Knowledgeable in Federal and State Laws and Regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Manuals, Guides, and Standards, NNSA procedures, all NNSS site security procedures and policies to include extensive knowledge of the Site Security Plan requirements as they relate to Security Systems utilized to protect Special Nuclear Material, Classified Material, and DOE/NNSA facilities.
        • Federal and State Laws and Regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Manuals, Guides, and Standards, NNSS/NNSA and SOC policies, procedures, and orders.
        • In depth knowledge of and skilled in complex security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
        • Advanced-level computer skills that include Microsoft Office Suite and other cyber related software.
        • Knowledge and skilled in complex alarm management systems, interior and exterior intrusion detection systems, video assessment and surveillance systems, access control and denial systems, and wired/wireless command and control centers and a complete understanding and in-depth application of cyber security, technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts in the field of security systems. Requires general knowledge of other related disciplines and/or functions. Experience with security systems is preferred. Must be able to perform the following physical and mental tasks:
          • Visual acuity (e.g., needed to prepare and analyze data, to transcribe documents, to view a computer, to read, to inspect objects, to operate machinery.)
          • Capacity to think, concentrate and focus for long periods of time.
          • Ability to read complex documents in the English language.
