    Responsibilities
    Matrixed from the Material Planning & Control Center under the Asset & Material Management Department to the Enhanced Capabilities for Subcritical Experiments (ECSE) and Technologies and Operations (T&O) Directorates of the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), the Supervisor II will supervise Material Planning and Control Specialists (MPCS) responsible for completing orders/requisitions to meet project deliverables. This includes expediting material orders to ensure project milestones are not delayed. The reporting location will be 2621 Losee Road in North Las Vegas, NV.
    Key Responsibilities


    • Participate in the recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training of MPCS staff.


    • Organize and supervise day-to-day supply chain operations, ensuring that schedules are kept.


    • Monitor requisition submission mailbox and balance workload amongst MPCS staff.


    • Attend Integrated Project Team Meetings on multiple experimental projects and help with the planning of long lead item procurements.


    • Interact daily with subordinates, approve time, participate in performance evaluations, and provide technical guidance as necessary.


    • Coordinate with Project Managers and the Procurement Department on critical procurements and provide status updates to key project personnel including home organization and matrixed management.


    • Interact with vendors and or customers to facilitate procurements.


    • Fulfill the duties and responsibilities of an MPCS and expeditor at the Nevada National Security Site for ECSE and T&O.


    • Support ECSE and T&O management to ensure the proper application of material control functions identified in the MSTS Quality program are implemented and compliant.


    • Process P-Card, catalog, and procurement requests in Oracle database to buy material.


    • Expedite the flow of material from requisition through delivery to the project.


    • Coordinate with procurement and receiving to ensure accountability of all purchased material.


    • Establish, maintain, and manage inventory in material storage areas.


    • Prepare reports, procedures, and deliverables for management.


    • Perform related work as assigned by manager.


      Qualifications


      • Bachelors' degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of related and progressively responsible experience.


      • Ability to execute work, problem solve, monitor performance of staff and meet established deadlines.


      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


      • Ability to confront and address behavioral problems with employees through constructive feedback.


      • Computer skills with software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and skills to input and retrieve data from Oracle systems.


      • Experience and proficiency with material management, procurement, or inventory systems preferred.


      • Experience with scheduling and customer service in a dynamic environment.


      • Ability to work with various Scientists, Engineers, Technicians, Project Managers, Nuclear Weapons Laboratory Customers, outside agencies, suppliers as required to administer projects and programs effectively.


      • Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate in a professional positive manner with all levels of employees and management during very busy and frequent stressful situations.


      • Ability to exercise considerable discretion and judgment in performing work and conducting evaluations of operation/process effectiveness.


      • Must be able to work independently and without direct supervision to execute and monitor work assignments and meet established deadlines.


      • Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with policies, procedures, government laws, rules, and regulations, or standards.


      • Ability to execute work, problem solve, monitor performance of staff and meet established deadlines.


      • The primary work location with be the North Las Vegas Facility, with occasional trips to the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS).


      • Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday. (subject to change)


      • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.


      • Must possess a valid driver's license.


        MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
        Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 (http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=14b1c770db022992d237769fbe9fc519&mc=true&node=se10.4.707_14&rgn=div8) , "Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites," will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required.         Annual salary range for this position is $ 96,387.20 - $154,211.20.
        Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
