Overview:Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages
and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S.
National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Our MISSION is to

requirements: Responsibilities:The Communications Department tells
the story of the NNSS to internal and external audiences, shaping
our image and advancing our national security mission. This
position is an integral part of developing and implementing the
internal and external communication strategies for the NNSS, to
share that story. It is also critical to continuing the strong
culture of collaboration to create experiences that engage,
connect, and inspire employees and the NNSS community of partners,
and cultivate and maintain positive relationships with external
stakeholders. This position reports to the Communications Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, execute and evaluate communication plans to
raise awareness of the people, programs and achievements at the
NNSS internally and externally.
- Represent the NNSS in the community, with media, and with
government agencies as needed.
- Formulate internal and external communication strategies and
concepts to achieve NNSS goals.
- Independently research, interview experts, write and edit
content for use in print, video, web and social media, to include
news and feature stories, media news releases and pitches, internal
employee messaging, presentations, reports, fact sheets, etc.
- Coordinate the creation of brochures, newsletters, fact sheets
and other projects with graphic artists, other writers, and subject
matter experts.
- Provide oversight of the NNSS.gov (external website) and inSite
(internal website), including writing, updating, and maintaining
website content.
- Compile and evaluate monthly analytics reports and develops new
courses of action to improve performance.
- Develop presentations, video scripts, and speaking points for
executive communication to both internal and external audiences and
presents to groups as needed.
- Manage the Nevada National Security Site Emergency Public
Information program, leading emergency communications efforts as
needed.Serve as an on-call Public Information Officer for Nevada
National Security Site Emergency Operations Center and spokesperson
in the event of an emergency.Serve as manager, assistant manager,
news manager, news writer and employee communications coordinator
(as needed) in the Nevada National Security Site Joint Information
Center.Coordinate media inquiries and tours of the NNSS.Develop
strategies and procedures to achieve the NNSS and Management &
Operation contractors communications goals.Develop relationships
internally and externally as needed to perform work
effectively.Edit copy for accuracy, grammar and style.Evaluate the
effectiveness of communication strategies and programs and develop
and implement changes as needed to improve effectiveness.Takes
photos of projects, events, employees, etc. as needed.Other duties
and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in
a communications or business-related field and 8 years' of
professional level experience, or equivalent training and
experience.Demonstrated experience and ability to plan, develop,
and manage corporate public affairs and communications
programs.Experience with emergency public information
programs.Knowledge of Associated Press style.Experience with
Content Management Systems such as SharePoint, WordPress, and
social media platforms and tools highly desired.Experience with
content creation and web design skills.Knowledge of search engine
optimization.Effective written and oral communication
skills.Sensitivity to errors that could negatively impact projects
or the organization.Proven ability to foster teamwork, conflict
resolution, timely decision making, and problem solving.Ability to
interact effectively with all levels of the organization,
committees, the media, the public and in large gatherings.Ability
to build collaborative professional relationships with diverse
individuals, including colleagues, customers, interns, news media,
vendors, partners and the general public.Demonstrated proficiency
in business software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel
and PowerPoint.Strategic and action oriented, able to quickly shift
priorities, manage interruptions and meet deadlines.Thrives working
both independently and with a collaborative team.Track, balance and
prioritize multiple projects of various sizes.Demonstrated
knowledge and practice of journalistic writing.Pre-placement
physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required.
MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug
testing.Must possess a valid driver's license.MSTS is required by
DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background
review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law
enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a
federal background investigation to meet the requirements for
access to classified information or matter if the duties of the
position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or
illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity,
serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can
cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in
the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent
termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment
must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security
clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of

to obtain a security clearance may be impacted. Department of
Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level).
Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in
, Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites, will be
conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal
background investigation, required to participate in subsequent
reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for
access to classified matter. Successful completion of a
counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a
counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be

$94,972.80 - $144,851.20. Starting salary is determined based on
