This position selects new maintenance personnel while maintaining established budgets and property needs. The Facility Manager ensures timely trouble shooting, repair and quality maintenance of all property assets including but not limited to buildings, grounds, pools, utilities, vehicles and other equipment. Sustainability is important to our team and this role will support the property recycling program as well as other environmental and safety initiatives. This is salaried position which normally requires a minimum of 50 hours per week. Responsibilities * Responsible for supervising all Maintenance personnel through the Working Leads on a daily basis to ensure that work is accomplished in accordance with established priorities, budgetary, quality, and safety standards. Conduct daily "quality" checks of completed work to confirm that departmental standards are being met. * Manage and assist with the training and development of all Maintenance personnel. Provide technical assistance to the Leads as required. * Strictly enforce safety procedures in all areas and ensure that ongoing safety training is conducted. * Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established priorities, and that work order paperwork is properly and accurately completed on a daily basis for review by the Director of Engineering. * Prepare, review and adjust work schedules for all Maintenance personnel to ensure the timely completion of all tasks and day-to-day operations. * Assist with inventory and the purchase of material, parts and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance within Property budget and guidelines. * Assist the Director of Engineering with Operational and Capital budgets. * Maintain and implement preventive maintenance programs for all Property assets as directed. * Ensure that all work is accomplished to maximize guest satisfaction. * Evaluate daily room-out-of-order report and take steps to ensure that guest satisfaction and revenues are maintained at the highest level possible. * Assist in implementation and maintaining of environmental standards adhering to corporate environmental initiatives. * Oversee cart and vehicle assignments as well as preventive and remedial maintenance of all rolling stock. * Track and record maintenance, both remedial and preventive, of all critical utility, life-safety, and sensitive equipment and infrastructure including but not limited to utility power, water, telephone, elevator operation, operation of chillers, the sprinkler system, etc. * Assist as required with the supervision of new construction, remodeling and the installation of new equipment using outside contractors and /or our own maintenance crew. * Assist the General Manager with the documenting of "as-is" property infrastructures. * Set up and maintain the Engineering Project and Archives' office. * Establish and maintain a department tools' list and check-out/check-in procedure. * Responsible for ensuring that all employees are aware of the Ecometrix Policy, Xanterra's company-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) and their roles and responsibilities in achieving conformance to the policy. * Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering. Qualifications * Minimum of 3 years of direct maintenance management experience or general construction experience with ability to provide hands-on assistance, supervise, lead and motivate all Maintenance trades (electric, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, gardening etc.) * Detailed technical knowledge of property and infrastructure desirable. * Experience in scheduling 30-plus staff for a 7-day per week operation. * Demonstrated ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with management, peers, employees, co-workers and guests. * Be a role-model for others by example and initiative. * Skills in basic and technical repairs of property equipment and assets. * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to give instructions, reports and justifications in clear, concise manners. * Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and the internet. Ability to learn and work with the work order/inventory tracking system (INFOR) * Must have a clean driving record and possess a current California Driver's License or have the ability to get one within 20 days of employment Physical Demands: * Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. * Physical stamina and conditioning to withstand working outside in extreme temperatures We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
