Job Description Job Description Construction Estimator Sunstar Construction is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Field Estimator to join our team. This position is ideal for a construction professional individual who enjoys working in the field, helping customers, and producing accurate project estimates. The role involves visiting customers’ homes, measuring flooring and other building materials, and guiding them in selecting products that fit their needs and budget. Experience in construction estimating is preferred, and Measure Square software training will be provided. A CDL is a plus but not required. Position Details • Full-Time Position • Hourly Pay: $25 – $30 per hour (based on experience) • Company work van provided (used to and from work) Key Responsibilities • Travel to customers’ homes to measure and evaluate projects • Accurately measure, sketch, and document job scope using digital tools • Create detailed and accurate estimates (Measure Square training provided) • Help customers choose samples that match their style and budget • Build trust with customers by clearly explaining process, pricing, and timelines • Take job photos and document materials and labor requirements • Submit completed sketches and documentation daily • Coordinate with office and installation teams for smooth project execution • Maintain a professional appearance and strong customer communication • Stay organized, reliable, and efficient in daily scheduling and field work Qualifications • Construction estimating experience required • Comfortable working in the field and inside customers’ homes • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Professional, dependable, and customer-focused • Good communication and people skills • Ability to use tablets, apps, and measurement software • Willingness to learn estimating system • Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus) Benefits • 75% Employer-Paid Health Insurance including Dental (after 90 days) • Paid Time Off (PTO) begins accruing after 6 months • Stable, full-time position with consistent workload 40hrs a week • Company vehicle provided for commuting and job use • Opportunity for growth within a strong, team-oriented company How to Apply We are looking for a reliable, hardworking professional who takes pride in accuracy, customer service, and doing the job right.
